Richer Than Bill Gates by 9 Billion Dollars

A 67 years old Mexican telecom tycoon Carlos Slim Helu has overtaken Microsoft founder Bill Gates as the richest person on the planet, according Mexican financial website. Slim has lead over Gates wealth amounted to billions of dollars. “The difference between their two fortunes is around nine billion dollars in favor of Slim,” the financial website claims. Carlos Slim Helu’s net worth is about $67.84 billion, while Bill Gates net worth hangs around $59 billion.
There is a reason why Bill Gates fell to the second seat- because Bill Gates has stepped aside as Microsoft CEO every since 2000. That’s seven years without the real money making job. What he has been doing since that “retirement” is working energetically in his philanthropic foundation called Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which he started with his wife Melinda Gates since 1999.
On the other hand, our new richest man Carlos Slim Helu aside from his America Movil, which rose 26.5% in a single quarter,
he controls the INBURSA financial group and the Grupo Carso industrial firm with interests spanning retail stores, coffee shops and restaurants. Here is an intersting fact about Slim Helu, in the year 1997, he bought about 3% of Apple Computer shares at 17 dollars per share shortly before the company launched its hit iMac computer. A year later, Apple’s shares topped 100 dollars.

This is quite interesting.It would have made much more sense if was published from a different country other Mexico where this guy comes from. Don’t you see an element of self promotion here. Just my thoughts.

I don’t mean to be personally jealous but I can’t help it.
Honestly, how much is enough for these guys. 90% of the world is in poverty and here this guy is so rich he could build a house out of it.
For every foot I drive this clown could buy a car and I drive 30 minutes on the highway to work.
Making that amount of money is just wrong.
