It is one of the busiest shopping season right now and will be until the Christmas is over. But please you got to set limit on spending too much on shopping gifts for yourself, family and friends. Otherwise, it could result in big credit card debts, and even going bankrupt. You don’t want that to happen. So here some of the way you can prevent yourself from shopping too much:

1. Avoid too much credit card: If you have a bank check card, use them to buy shopping items. Because credit card will charge you a huge interest when you miss to pay the bill. That’s not worth it. Use credit card only when you have to and only when you know you are able to pay back on time.

2. Set up a Priority list: There are lots of things out there that you thing you should buy, but the truth is you can’t afford them all. What you need to do is set up a priority – priority of things that you thing is more important over other items. That way you can assure you got the thing that was most important to purchase.

3. Look at your Budget: It is always a good idea to set up a shopping spending budget. The you will be able to make sure that you have atleast some leftover money to show the day after your spending spree. You can estimate all the cost and assume the cost will be more than likely more expensive.

4. Estimate the costs: Once you have your holiday list, look at each item and make a quick estimate of the cost. Be sure to include estimates on the prices for each of the gifts you are planning to give. Add everything up and you will have an estimate of what the holidays are going to cost.

5. Consider the cheaper: When your friends say they want a playstation 3, it doesn’t mean they want $599 PS3. They just wan the PS3, they don’t care about the price. So always look for ways to buy the gift cheap. Don’t be afraid to buy the gifts that are cheap. As long as the gift is the one that your friend will like, you shouldn’t worry about the price.

6. You Got skills: People often times seem to say they don’t have skills; but if they look and think more they will realize that skills is not something that you are born with. You work on your skills to develop it. You can use your creative skills to create gifts. See, instead of buying an expensive gift cards, why not create one for yourself. Seriously, it is not that hard to create cards. Learn to make one yourself. If it is too late to do for this year, still learn it. You ca use it some other time to save money on gift cards.
