Golddiggers, Marry to Make Money
December 21, 2007Love Your Health Money Family & Relationship
Golddiggers are those people who marry because their spouse have a lot of money. Their intention is purely to own the money. Some of the gold diggers can be listed as Kevin Federline marrying Britney Spears. He was just a small back up dancer; but after getting divorce from her, he is making thousands of bucks every month just for himself. Same can be said about Heather Mills who is the second wife of Paul McCartneys; she will be receiving millions of dollars once their divorce gets finalized.
If you read the personal classified ads in your local news papers or even online on craigslist, you will see women who will write a headline asking for a man who makes good amount of money. Sad, but true. According to a survey by Prince & Associates, a Connecticut-based wealth-research firm, the average “price” that men and women demand to marry for money these days is $1.5 million. That’s a lot of money. But it goes against all the ideology we carry about love and soul mates. In the west, we criticize eastern countries for having arrange marriages, but we should really look at our own marriage settings. Marrying to make wealth.
Interesting enough, in that same survey 71% of the women who are in their twenties who said they would marry for money told they expected to get divorced eventually, the highest of any demographic. Only 27% of men in their 40s expected to divorce.
