Healthy skin requires nutrients from foods that we eat in order to repair itself from the damages it goes through in everyday lives and replenish the dead skin cells with new healthy cells.

Anyways, here are the

list of foods that are good for great, beautiful and healthy looking skin

Tomatoes are natural and powerful antioxidant because it contains lycopene – the bright red pigment. There were couple of research studies about skin care conducted by Universities of Newcastle and Manchester that were presented to the British Society for Investigative Dermatology. The study found that people who ate five tablespoons of tomato paste every day suffered milder sunburns and less sun-induced skin aging than participants who didn’t ate at all. This food boosts the level of pro collagen in the skin significantly to notice its sun shielding benefits, although not as much as sun protection skin cream and products.

Avoid processed foods such as fries and high carb snacks like candy. Instead go for high protein, low glycemic diet such as pasta, legumes and whole grains. This was proven by a conjoined study completed by Australia’s RMIT University and Royal Melbourne Hospital Department of Dermatology where kids with acne who ate high protein, low glycemic diet got their skin cleaner and fewer blemishes after tweleve weeks compared to those who went on a high-carb diet. Anyway, diet alone might not be the only factor contributing to skin acne, but healthy foods such as whole grains of oatmeal, wheat bread and brown rice, vegetables and vegetables are proven to proven better looking skin.

Go for soymilk, instead of regular milk for your beautiful skin. A lot of studies have been concluding that teens who consume lots of milk and other dairy products have an increased risk of zits, acne and other skin breakouts. This could be because of the hormones and bioactive molecules ingredient in the milk. Drink milk substitutes such as soy milk to main your great looking beautiful skin that you have.

Strange but pain relievers help lower risk of skin cancer. This is according to the research done by Queensland Institute of Medical Research in Australia, where they found that OTC pain relievers like aspirin decrease the potential of developing squamous cell carcinoma. I am wondering if this has to do with our body not having to go through physical stressful that could hurt nerve endings reaching the outer skin layer.

Ooh Godiva. Who doesn’t like chocolates? If you don’t, maybe you should give it a try or thought one more time. I am saying this because eating few pieces of dark chocolates have been proven to increase blood flow to the skin to exfoliate and rejuvenate you skin. It’s main content flavonols is a protective nutrient actually, that absorbs harmful ultraviolet light. Dark chocolates enriched with cocoa can make skin softer and lessen the irritation.

Berries are awesome. Blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, and plums are foods that has high antioxidant content. In a research that was published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, these four fruits were ranked the highest for having the “total antioxidant capacity” of any food.

Bake them potatoes. Baked potatoes have about three fourth of the our daily copper needs in our diet. It works along with zinc and Vitamin C to build elastin fibers to make our skin look firm and strong. These fibers at the end prevent the skin from sagging down.

Essential Fatty Acids from Salmon, Walnuts, Canola Oil, and Flax Seed have benefits for healthy skin that other foods can barely replace. These foods are responsible for healthy cell membrane that acts as a boundary for waste and passageway for the nutrients to reach the skin to regenerate and glow.

Salmon can add luster to your skin complexion. Salmon is a fish with one of the richest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids that help nourish the skin by reducing the body’s production of inflammatory substances, decreasing clogged pores, and fighting fine lines and repairing the wrinkles. Sunflower seeds can also avert wrinkles and replenish skin with Vitamin E for younger looking skin.

Tea and Water – last but not least, these are probably two of the most important foods you can drink to make you skin look perfect. Water hydrates our skin and make it look young by moving toxins away, while tea has anti inflammatory properties. Researchers at the Medical College of Georgia have found that the polyphenol, which is most abundant in green tea — EGCG — also acts as a “fountain of youth for skin by reactivating dying skin cells.
