PC World has a very good article regarding 10 very common computer pc problems that we face one time or another in our daily computing life. It show how to fix these pc problems without much of a hassle:

Wi Fi Network1. What do you do when your Wi-Fi network is now walking, instead of running. First check your network outage. If that’s not causing it, than there is an interference from disruptions such as microwave use or use of a cordless phone. You should see if relocating your router helps speeds up. If that doesn’t help either, crowded channel maybe the issue. You can change the channel; use your router’s configuration page; look for a ‘Channel’ section and try 1, 6, or 11.

2. Display Screen Looks Terrible. You can check your computer’s display settings by right-clicking on the desktop; choose Properties, then Settings. If the resolution and color quality can’t be increased further, click Advanced or adapter. If there is an adapter, try a prior driver version. In XP, click Properties, Driver, and Roll Back Driver, while in Windows Vista, you should open the Personalization Control Panel, choose the Display Settings, then Advanced Settings, then Properties, and finally click Driver, Roll Back Driver.

3. The Printer is not printing properly. If you have tried to cancel a printe job, it may not have been erased properly from the printer’s memory. Turn the printer off for a minute, then back on. While you’re waiting, go to Start, Printers and Faxes in XP, or Start, Printers in Windows Vista, to delete anything in the print queue. If the problem continues, you can always re-download and reinstall the driver.

4. The default printer has been change. Some apps, like Microsoft’s OneNote changes the default printer to make their printer-like devices default for all print jobs. If that’s so, go and select Start, Run, type “control printers”, and press Enter. Right-click the printer you prefer, and click Set as Default Printer. That’s it.

Memory Error Messages5. Seeing daily, same error messages citing memory problems. You can check if bad RAM is actually the trouble, download the free MemTest86 and stick it on a boot disk; then run the full battery of tests. If that’s the problem, then change the RAM.

6. Your PC starts up too slowly. Click Start, Run and type “msconfig”. Then click the Startup tab to see all of the apps that load at startup. Uncheck anything you don’t want to start at boot-up–but uncheck programs one at a time, as you need many of these apps to run your PC. You can read,
